We’re thrilled to announce that Infigo has secured a new contract with GDS. Since January, we’ve been working on enhancing the user experience for people managing long-term health conditions or disabilities, making it easier to access the support they need.

Our vision

The goal of this project is to reduce duplication across public services and ensure timely access to healthcare information, employment support, and financial assistance. By fostering collaboration across government departments, we aim to simplify the navigation of services and provide personalised guidance that helps individuals maintain their wellbeing and stay engaged in work.

The problem

Managing a long-term health condition or disability is often made harder by disjointed and inefficient public services. Currently, government support is not optimally structured, leaving significant room for improvement. Core services need transformation, and better integration between services is essential to improving outcomes for users.

This inefficiency has contributed to a rise in economic inactivity due to long-term sickness, making it harder to slow or reverse this trend. Many public support services do not effectively cater to the varied needs of individuals with specialised conditions and diverse work situations, making access to the right resources unnecessarily challenging.

Key statistics

  • There are at least 40 different services related to managing long-term health conditions or disabilities
  • 47% of these services have no online channel available
  • Many services still require offline processing and duplicate information
  • Services are spread across nine departments, including the NHS and local authorities
  • People spend an average of nine working days per year on health-related admin
  • The UK loses £14 billion in tax revenue due to economic inactivity caused by long-term sickness, with £3.5 billion attributed to the post-pandemic increase

The current system is overly manual and disjointed, placing unnecessary burdens on both users and staff.

Our goal

We aim to reduce the administrative burden on people managing long-term health conditions and support them in remaining in work. Through this collaboration with GDS, we are working towards a streamlined, user-friendly system that ensures individuals receive the support they need without unnecessary complexity.

We’re excited to be part of this crucial work and look forward to making a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Stay tuned for updates as we continue developing solutions that improve accessibility, efficiency, and support for those who need it most.
